Woodward is an industry leader in the design and manufacture of electro-hydraulic pressure and flow control servovalves, sensor subsystems, and motor products for the aerospace and defense industry. Our servovalves are in worldwide use on demanding fixed-wing aircraft, helicopters, space vehicles, missiles, ground and marine vehicles, and engine applications. Woodward’s complete sensor subsystems combine multiple sensor types (position, force, pressure, discrete switching, acceleration, angular rate, level, etc.) integrated around a digital-signal concentrator electronics module. Woodward customers realize substantial weight savings due to optimization of sensor wire lengths around the centrally-located signal concentration module. Woodward’s areas of motor expertise include AC Motors, Brushless DC Motors, and Stepper Motors along with accessory devices including Brakes, Clutches, and Damper. Woodward housed motors can also be supplied directly mated to our own gearheads (as a powerdrive unit) or with a leadscrew output as needed to deliver greater torque or force to the payload.
