2020 campaign for Farnborough International Airshow

Once again Ouno have been awarded the contract for all creative with Farnborough International airshow (FIA) for the 2020 period.

After the success of the FIA2018 campaign and the brand refresh earlier in 2016 we wanted to develop the ‘future’ theme, along with an elevation of the campaign to demonstrate the leadership of the FIA across the aviation sectors; aerospace, defence, space, cargo, urban air, and manufacturing. We termed this ‘integrated futures’ perspective, ‘Aerospace 4.0’, based on Industry 4.0 / Manufacturing 4.0.

The campaign hones in on the core focus areas for the FIA, with new attention given to the Urban Air industry. Our 3D modeling was unusually sensitive, needing to evoke relateable and realistic near-future technology without leaning too heavily on any individual manufacturer’s portfolio at the expense of others. The result we attained is uniquely FIA – a perfect extension of their exisiting brand expressions.

The versatile ‘beam’ graphic device lends itself to both old-world and new-world platforms. Our approach to brand and campaign is to design for digital-first, and this successful project is no exception. Our way of working enables animation elements to be introduced to our graphics almost at the click of a button, bringing FIA2020 to digital life. Meanwhile spot UV and other finishing processes allow the printed material to, quite literally, shine. As we run up to FIA2020 we’re looking forward to exploring where we can take the campaign next.
