
FIA Connect 2021 / A Digital Airshow
Farnborough International Airshow has launched what is going to become its annual digital event – FIA Connect. The physical show was cancelled in 2020 due to the pandemic, so an online offering was created, to run instead of the biennial mega-event that year.
With the next Farnborough International Airshow not due till 2022, and the Paris Airshow cancelled for this year, Farnborough International have decided to make FIA Connect an annual event. Of course, Ouno were there to help with the branding.
Building on the inaugural FIA Connect of 2020, we’ve worked closely with Farnborough International to boost functionality for an even more user-friendly ‘social media’ style platform.
This seems to be something that the aerospace sector, and the industries that serve it, are very keen on. The appetite for doing business is even stronger than usual given the economic storm of 2020 and, as usual, Farnborough International have their finger on the pulse.
So, with a strong nod to the upcoming airshow campaign for 2022, we created a brand for FIA Connect that acknowledges the Farnborough International parent show, but that has an identity all of its own. Our ‘tunnel’ graphic is a macro-photography style environment that crackles with energy and depth. The subtle vectors and screen-style icons emulate a digital interface. In the foreground, a slick and stylised plane cruises past particles afloat in the digital ether. Altogether, this evokes a focused – and future-focused – dynamic, online event.
We’re proud of our ongoing work with Farnborough International, whose vision and industry-focus look likely to lead the way in aerospace sector networking for the forseeable future.
